2nd place (woof photo frame): Pamela Capalbo

Puppy Photography in Yonkers, NY: Smokey

I’d like to introduce you to Smokey, a rottweiler-beagle mix who was just recently adopted from North Shore Animal League. Here he is at 12 weeks old and 23 lbs.

After about 45 minutes of modeling for me, Smokey was so exhausted he decided to take a nap. What’s cuter than a sleeping puppy? A curious puppy of course! Although I think Joe, his daddy, might beg to differ. This is a list of the curiosity casualties from his Facebook status on Friday: “So far 2 boxes of tissues, 2 phone books, a dog book, and 8 rolls of paper towels.”

New Fine Art Photography Available: Mums & Other Springtime Photos

Spring has finally sprung! If you’re anything like me you may have thought it would never come again after this winter. The lion never seemed to be tamed in March. Now it feels like summer… so I’m done complaining and ready to capture all the beautiful things bursting into bloom outside.

Check out my Fine Art Folder to see over 20 new floral photographs. There are several shots of a magenta mum (a daisy-like flower) from all different angles, and also a few photos of a yellow spider mum. You can also find petals and flowers floating in water glasses and close up shots of submerged stems with clinging air bubbles.

Check it out, and stick around because I’m processing more springtime photos now and they will be posted soon.

Dog Photography in Lake Peekskill, NY: Harley, Dakota, and Rocky

Meet Harley, a 7-year-old Rottweiler-Lab mix, and her two Pitbull buddies Dakota and Rocky.

Sadly, Harley was recently diagnosed with cancer and still has several weeks of treatment to go through. It’s amazing to me how well dogs handle sickness; Harley seems perfectly happy and healthy. Yes, that’s Harley charging towards her ball… at top speed… despite all that ice under her!

The vet says it’s possible that she could make it through another year. I don’t believe it, I have high hopes that she’ll reach the ripe old age of 14, just like her friend Rocky.

Cat Photography in Lake Peekskill, NY: Callie & George

Take a look at these adorable kitties!

George has an obsession with bottle caps. The second he hears the hiss of an opening bottle, he comes running like a dog ready to play fetch. He gets his mouth on a bottle cap and carries it to the bathtub, where he swats it around like a hockey puck in a half pipe. Eventually he swats them all under the couch, just out of reach. It’s a vicious cycle.

Callie’s aloofness makes her a difficult cat to photograph. She sits on a window sill, with her attention on a bird or a squirrel, and you could clang pots together next to her head and get nothing more than an ear twitch out of her. That’s okay, this calico’s beauty was worth the extra work. Oh, aside from ignoring the world, Callie likes to tease the outdoor cats that often visit her. She sits like a queen while they rub their noses on the other side of the glass.

Summer Reading Buddy Program

Over the summer, I was asked to do some portrait and event photography for Westchester’s Public-Private Partnership for Aging Services. I photographed many of the volunteers that contribute to this organization as well as a regular event called the Summer Reading Buddy Program.

Volunteers filled the second floor of the Yonkers Riverfront Library to help students who need to work on their reading skills. It was wonderful to see so many seniors giving their time to aid the community’s youth.

Here are a few shots from the Summer Reading Buddy Program. Or you can check out the entire  WPPP Annual Report.

Dawn’s Maternity Shoot

Here are a couple of photos from Dawn’s maternity shoot. They were long overdue; I can’t believe how time flies. Callie was born on September 7th. Congratulations to the new parents!

Dawn’s Baby Shower

There’s only a month left before little Callie will be arriving, and her bedroom will be well-stocked when she gets here.

Here are a few preview shots from the Baby Shower. I hope you enjoy them.

Stay tuned for Dawn’s maternity pictures. As soon as daddy flies in we’ll be shooting.

Enjoy this story? I'd love you forever if you'd share it! =)
