Just take a look at this adorable puppy! His face is just so mushy, squishy, and wrinkly… I just had to squeeze it!
Oh… I didn’t introduce you… sorry I must have been lost in the moment. This is Samson, a Bullmastiff that just turned 3 months old this past Saturday. He’s already nearly 40lbs and isn’t even close to growing into his massive paws.
His dad said he felt like he was walking with a celebrity when he brought Samson on his first trip to Petco recently. Heads were turning in every aisle. Nobody could resist him. What, you think you could?
Hope you enjoy this sneak peek of Samson’s photos!

I would like to introduce you to Dude! He’s an Australian Cattle Dog who just celebrated his 2nd birthday. Happy Birthday Dude!
He is a rescued dog that was born in Mississippi and somehow made his way to the SPCA in Briarcliff Manor. Dude wasn’t there long before his new family discovered him and took him home.
Now he spends most of his time trying to figure out how to get to his girlfriend. Chloe, a Boston Terrier – Beagle mix, lives next door just beyond the electric fence. She sits just out of reach, silently staring at him, teasing him. She makes him go crazy! Ah… such is love.
When Chloe isn’t outside, Dude spends his time running around the yard and trying to figure out how to get more toys in his mouth. That is, until the mailman comes with his daily treat. I haven’t witnessed it, but I’m sure he’ll drop his toys for the mailman.
I had a ton of fun with this little Dude! I hope you enjoy his photos. Here is a preview of what’s to come.

I feel horrible! Here I am photographing everyone else’s pets, and time has just flown by. It’s been such a long time since I took pictures of my own little buddy that I haven’t even introduced him here.
I’d like you to meet my bird Yoshi! He’s a 5-year-old orange winged amazon who loves to chat. What’s his favorite thing to say?
Among the dozens of expressions and sounds he can make, “I wantta treat,” is what comes out of his beak the most. I’m sure you can guess why. That’s okay though, because “I love you” comes in second for his most frequent expressions.

Meet Abby, a 1-year-old Yorkie. This little cutie is only 4 lbs; I could put two of her in my purse.
Her tiny frame sparked my curiosity, so I turned to Google to find me the smallest dog in history. It turns out it was actually a Yorkshire Terrier named Sylvie that lived in England from 1943-1945. She weighed 4 ounces, stood 2.5 inches tall, and measured 3.5 inches long. This makes Abby seem a whole lot bigger.
Even so, it still took some effort on her part to climb up to my face, a goal she wouldn’t give up on until she’d licked it. She was so sweet and quiet. So quiet that I didn’t hear a peep from her until we were nearing the end of our photo session. When mom withholds treats for too long, Abby can hit notes higher than Mariah Carey! Makes me wonder what Sylvie sounded like…

Let me introduce you to Ollie and Winnie, two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Ollie is two years old and Winnie just turned six months old on August 3rd.
I met Ollie, Winnie, and their parents at the beautiful Chase Meadows Farm in North Salem for their photo session. These dogs were so well-mannered and incredibly loyal to Mom and Dad. No amount of calling, kissing, or noise-making, on my part, could make Ollie and Winnie take their eyes off their owners and look at the camera.
I learned that these spaniels were originally bred as royal lap dogs, and were used to keep fleas off their people. King Charles Spaniels were also sent with traveling ladies to keep them warm on their winter carriage rides. This history truly explains the mannerisms of these well-behaved and loyal dogs.
Here is a preview of Ollie and Winnie’s photo session. Enjoy!

I’d like to introduce you to Smokey, a rottweiler-beagle mix who was just recently adopted from North Shore Animal League. Here he is at 12 weeks old and 23 lbs.
After about 45 minutes of modeling for me, Smokey was so exhausted he decided to take a nap. What’s cuter than a sleeping puppy? A curious puppy of course! Although I think Joe, his daddy, might beg to differ. This is a list of the curiosity casualties from his Facebook status on Friday: “So far 2 boxes of tissues, 2 phone books, a dog book, and 8 rolls of paper towels.”

Meet Harley, a 7-year-old Rottweiler-Lab mix, and her two Pitbull buddies Dakota and Rocky.
Sadly, Harley was recently diagnosed with cancer and still has several weeks of treatment to go through. It’s amazing to me how well dogs handle sickness; Harley seems perfectly happy and healthy. Yes, that’s Harley charging towards her ball… at top speed… despite all that ice under her!
The vet says it’s possible that she could make it through another year. I don’t believe it, I have high hopes that she’ll reach the ripe old age of 14, just like her friend Rocky.

Take a look at these adorable kitties!
George has an obsession with bottle caps. The second he hears the hiss of an opening bottle, he comes running like a dog ready to play fetch. He gets his mouth on a bottle cap and carries it to the bathtub, where he swats it around like a hockey puck in a half pipe. Eventually he swats them all under the couch, just out of reach. It’s a vicious cycle.
Callie’s aloofness makes her a difficult cat to photograph. She sits on a window sill, with her attention on a bird or a squirrel, and you could clang pots together next to her head and get nothing more than an ear twitch out of her. That’s okay, this calico’s beauty was worth the extra work. Oh, aside from ignoring the world, Callie likes to tease the outdoor cats that often visit her. She sits like a queen while they rub their noses on the other side of the glass.

I met Christie and her Bichon, Charlie, at a nice park in Pawling. Charlie is hesitant with strangers, but since Christie brought me some ice cream to give to him, it wasn’t long before he became my newest buddy.
I had a ton of fun with this dog! I love when people dress up their dogs. Hope you enjoy the preview Christie.

Dexter is a 7-year-old German Short Haired Pointer and Great Dane mix. You’d never know he is middle-aged if you met him; he has the energy of a 2-year-old puppy!
When I first met Dexter we played fetch in the Peekskill Dog Park. I couldn’t get over how much he loved the game, and how he literally threw the ball back at me with a toss of his head.
Maybe one day I can take pictures of Dexter with his girlfriend (yes folks, this handsome fella is taken — by a Pitbull who lives close by). Thanks Allison, I hope you enjoy your preview.
