Trixie and Baby Shadow Need a Home

The next round of foster pets has brought me yet another mommy, but this time I have the pleasure of taking care of her kitten too! Trixie is that beautiful calico, and that cute little fluff ball is Shadow. They were both rescued from a kill shelter in NYC. I had no idea animals were being murdered so close to home; how naive am I huh?

Trixie is a very sweet, vocal, and outgoing kitty. She will snuggle up next to anyone willing to pet her. Watching her with Shadow is so relaxing. He’ll latch onto her, ravenous, and then his head bobbles start to slow until he’s face flat in mom’s fur. Moments later he’ll awaken and realize he’s hungry again. I guess warm milk can make you sleepy… it’s a vicious cycle. 😛

Both Trixie and Shadow will be up for adoption soon. In another two weeks the kitten will be weaned and mommy will go to recover until she can be spayed. Please let me know if you are interested in adopting! Even if you can’t adopt you can help by sharing this post with your friends on all  your social networks.

Here are a few more favorites from the day:

Dog Photography in Danbury, CT: Chimi

Chimi is a 6-year-old Long Haired Chihuahua who will do almost anything for some cheese. He posed on tree stumps, fences, and rocks for me! We took a stroll through Tarrywile Park… well it may have seemed like a stroll to Pam and I, but I think it must have been miles on Chimi’s teenie tiny legs. I found out later on that he was totally pooped and slept the rest of the day away. Thanks little man, I hope the photos make it all worth it.

Here are a couple of preview shots:

Puppy Photography in Lynbrook, NY: Samson

Just take a look at this adorable puppy! His face is just so mushy, squishy, and wrinkly… I just had to squeeze it!

Oh… I didn’t introduce you… sorry I must have been lost in the moment. This is Samson, a Bullmastiff that just turned 3 months old this past Saturday. He’s already nearly 40lbs and isn’t even close to growing into his massive paws.

His dad said he felt like he was walking with a celebrity when he brought Samson on his first trip to Petco recently.  Heads were turning in every aisle. Nobody could resist him. What, you think you could?

Hope you enjoy this sneak peek of Samson’s photos!

Dog Photography in Yorktown Heights, NY: Dude

I would like to introduce you to Dude! He’s an Australian Cattle Dog who just celebrated his 2nd birthday. Happy Birthday Dude!

He is a rescued dog that was born in Mississippi and somehow made his way to the SPCA in Briarcliff Manor. Dude wasn’t there long before his new family discovered him and took him home.

Now he spends most of his time trying to figure out how to get to his girlfriend. Chloe, a Boston Terrier – Beagle mix, lives next door just beyond the electric fence. She sits just out of reach, silently staring at him, teasing him. She makes him go crazy! Ah… such is love.

When Chloe isn’t outside, Dude spends his time running around the yard and trying to figure out how to get more toys in his mouth. That is, until the mailman comes with his daily treat. I haven’t witnessed it, but I’m sure he’ll drop his toys for the mailman.

I had a ton of fun with this little Dude! I hope you enjoy his photos. Here is a preview of what’s to come.

Bird Photography in Putnam Valley, NY: Yoshi

I feel horrible! Here I am photographing everyone else’s pets, and time has just flown by. It’s been such a long time since I took pictures of my own little buddy that I haven’t even introduced him here.

I’d like you to meet my bird Yoshi! He’s a 5-year-old orange winged amazon who loves to chat. What’s his favorite thing to say?

Among the dozens of expressions and sounds he can make, “I wantta treat,” is what comes out of his beak the most. I’m sure you can guess why. That’s okay though, because “I love you” comes in second for his most frequent expressions.

Summer Reading Buddy Program

Over the summer, I was asked to do some portrait and event photography for Westchester’s Public-Private Partnership for Aging Services. I photographed many of the volunteers that contribute to this organization as well as a regular event called the Summer Reading Buddy Program.

Volunteers filled the second floor of the Yonkers Riverfront Library to help students who need to work on their reading skills. It was wonderful to see so many seniors giving their time to aid the community’s youth.

Here are a few shots from the Summer Reading Buddy Program. Or you can check out the entire  WPPP Annual Report.

Dawn’s Maternity Shoot

Here are a couple of photos from Dawn’s maternity shoot. They were long overdue; I can’t believe how time flies. Callie was born on September 7th. Congratulations to the new parents!

Child/Infant Photo Session: Jack

I had so much fun with Jack during his photo shoot!  He showed me how he learned to go under water in his new pool, and demonstrated his newly acquired scooter skills. Then he made me really jealous when he showed me his new red Mustang (that’s my favorite car)!

I was really happy that Je-ma decided to get in on a few shots. Don’t they look adorable!

Senior Portraits: Vanessa

Vanessa just graduated with a BS in forensic science, and I’m so excited for her! She suggested that we go to the Orange County Arboretum for her senior portrait session, and she couldn’t have picked a more beautiful location.

Here are a few preview shots. Vanessa, I don’t want keep you in suspense for much longer, but there is more to come.

Enjoy this story? I'd love you forever if you'd share it! =)
